To Nano Nóbrega for bringing skateboards to the Locos and for bringing our brand to life.
Lastly, to the original Locos who are the inspiration for all of this. Chaz Bojórquez, whose work was prevalent on the streets and arroyos of
NELA and inspired me growing up there from the 1960s on forward. John Van Hamersveld, who inspired me from the moment I saw the
Endless Summer when my dad pinned it on the garage wall in 1967. To then become great friends and collaborators has been an honor in
my life. Norton Wisdom, it was consequential crossing paths in the LA punk scene of the early 1980s and to see such high quality visual art
brought to the musical stage with such innovative conviction. Gary Wong, a brief encounter hanging art in Downtown LA in 1980 made an
impression on me, like “who IS this guy?” I found out much later when we came together in 2001 to build the Chouinard Foundation, then in
our ongoing collaborations from there.
Thank you Locos, for being my heroes and inspiration in art and life.
